Tennessee Emergency Services (TES) brings together two of Knox County’s main fire and emergency response providers the Rural Metro Fire Department (RMFD) and the Knoxville Fire Department (KFD). Working side by side, they deliver dependable service to neighborhoods, businesses, and visitors throughout TNSRP. RMFD operates as a volunteer based department, covering communities outside city limits that do not have municipal fire protection. Their crews handle house fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, and hazardous materials incidents, providing quick, professional help where it’s needed most. KFD, the city’s municipal fire department, protects Knoxville with fire suppression, medical response, technical rescue, and community risk reduction programs. Known for their commitment to public service, KFD also partners with other agencies to strengthen safety across the region. Together, RMFD and KFD form the backbone of TES, ensuring coordinated, professional, and effective emergency services that keep TNSRP safe and provides exclusive RP.
